Oh why hello.
I didn’t see you there.
Normally, I’m not the type to talk too much about myself at first, unless I’ve had coffee of course, or am nervous, or have had more than one glass of wine. Okay, so maybe I sometimes-to-often don’t mind talking about myself, and chances are I’ve had either coffee or wine or both today, so here goes.
I have this dream where my living is made by putting words down on paper. Or, more realistically, poking my fingers at buttons arranged in the QWERTY style. We’ll see how far I get.
I can write all kinds of things. I’ve written on “hello my name is” notes; I’ve written poems about coffee; I’ve written in journals; I’ve written on white paper, green paper, yellow paper, blue paper, and purple paper, and I’ve also written for newspapers; I write in g-chat all the time; I’ve written diatribes and motivational monologues and scenes between lovers and “why you should buy our product.” I’ve written in self help books that didn’t belong to me and then kept them; I’ve written on quizzes in magazines; I’ve written how-to articles for places like squidoo and made ZERO of the monies from it; I’ve written blog posts and more blog posts and more blog posts; I’ve written love emails and Christmas cards; I used to write copious notes, but then I graduated.
I write on my hand when I have to remember to do something, and I write in my calendar when I have to remember to do something embarrassing.
I write on forms of all sorts; I write checks; I write wrongs; I write on the steam that covers car windows in the winter; I have written about a woman named Cassandra; I have written about T.S. Eliot and John Keats and mise-en-abime.
If I were to write a paragraph about myself, I would probably write that I am in my mid-twenties, hail from the East Coast (but always secretly believed I belonged in my current home, CA). I would add that I have a degree in English and French and the Creative Writing, proving that I am both an over-achiever and an over-idealist. I might add that I have a penchant for sarcasm (I might add that) and include the fact that I look best in red or black, just in case you wanted to buy me a t-shirt or dress.
For any other inquiries (I did not, for example, include my opinion on the Oxford comma), please email me at megan @ mallyhanna . com (perhaps take out the spaces).
